About This Event

In this full day workshop, unleash your imagination and creativity to build your very own treehouse. Children will be introduced real treehouses examples around the world to develop an appreciation for the built environment and exploring how spaces are shaped by nature and for people.
Their creation will be using natural tree branches as support structures. To bring their treehouse designs to life, children will consider important design elements such as the form, platforms, functional entry points and opening.
What Kids Will Learn
Children will be guided through a simple design process:
01 Observe
Observe and question the world around them and discover how people, objects and spaces work together. Identify a problem to solve and build empathy for others.
02 Imagine
Dream up possibilities, generate ideas and express their creativity.
03 Explore & Build
Discover form, shape, space, structure, materials and scale through hands-on play. Bring their idea to life by building models and use problem solving skills to see what works and how to improve it.
04 Share & Present
Present their creations and communicate their ideas to build their confidence.
