POTTERY/CERAMICS

Working clay with your hands is a bit messy but loads of fun!

Create hand crafted pieces such as basic coil, slab and pinch pots, as well as more advanced sculptural creations.  Learn to use moulds, glazes and hand painting techniques.  As you gain confidence you can then try your hand at wheelwork, creating functional pieces as well as sculptural works of art.

This class is more suited to beginners.  Be sure to wear old clothing due to the messy nature of clay working.

TUTOR - JANET SELBY

Janet has been creating art and sculpture for many years, inspired by Australian trees and animals. She loves teaching and sharing her experience in clay and currently makes and sells unique bonsai pots for Australian bonsai enthusiasts.

Materials are not included in the term fees and there is a small fee for having your works fired in the kiln.

Tutor - Blake Smith

Blake is currently studying Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts, Ceramics.

He  looks forward to helping people refine their practice and guide their self-expression by providing the basics of hand building and decorating.

With your enrolment, I am offering a convenient materials fee ($50) which includes a bag of clay, your own personal tool set, and a container. You only pay for firing and glaze, feel free to contact me with any questions.
